Mark Diedrich

Mark A. Diedrich, AIA is a Principal and Co-Founder of Kuo Diedrich Chi. Using his status as the next generation of golf club designers, Mark assists owners in the design, placemaking, and creation of amenities for golf and resort communities both domestically and internationally.

In addition to helping his clients, Mark shares his golf clubhouse expertise through speaking engagements at the Harvard University Graduate School of Design's continuing education program, Emory University and the Columbus Coalition for Sound Growth. Mark attended The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign graduating with a BSAS, M.Arch and MS in Construction Management. He maintains architecture registrations in Georgia and several other states and is a member of the Recreational Development Council (RDC) of the Urban Land Institute (ULI), the American Institute of Architects, and the US Green Building Council as a LEED Accredited Professional.

Designing a building is a lot like playing softball, you have to make sure you’re safe at all the bases before you can finish at home.

Mark is a contributing author in the book, “Building Type Basics for Recreational Facilities”by Richard J. Diedrich, published in 2005 and contributes monthly articles to Brazil's New Golf magazine. Mark's prior professional experience includes firms in Indiana and Georgia, working primarily in the recreation, resort and retail sectors. His friendship with co-founder Howard Kuo and JC Chi began while in graduate school and the three have worked together professionally since 1995. Born and raised in South Bend, Indiana, Mark's interests include golf, softball, fly-fishing, and sports. He is married and has two sons.
